Āgamā Yoga Centre offers yoga classes to suit the needs of a diverse range of body types and class styles. We’d like to offer students this stronger option of yoga practice in our Tradition.
 
This series will focus on back bends.
Back bends stretch and strengthen the front part of the body. They open up the chest, countering the long hours many of us spend hunched in front of a screen! This allows us to breathe more freely and helps us to alleviate tightness in the shoulders and back. They also stretch the front of the torso, hips and thighs and strengthen the back.

In this 5-week series, we will cover back bends from standing, kneeling and lying positions on front and back, gradually moving to deeper and appropriately stronger back bends for you.

The practices will also cover the other classifications of postures as needed to prepare the body for the goal postures.
