  • A dynamic approach, using co-ordination of breath and movement

An energizing class promoting flexibility & strength

All classifications of postures introduced; forward bends, backbends, lateral bends, twists, extensions, inversions and balances, graded in level of difficulty.

  • The proposal of this class is to use the sound of the Mantra as a focus of meditation. We will begin by introducing the meaning, the energy that we will invoke through the mantra, and learn its correct pronunciation and intonation.

Then we will begin to move through the āsanas (body postures) repeating the mantra audibly during the standing postures, and progressively as the practice progresses toward the floor, the volume of the mantra will be lowered until it becomes a mental sound.

Having prepared the body, the breath and the mind, we will sit comfortably for the practice of prāṇāyāma (breath techniques), where the mantra will be used as a breathing metric, focusing on the pause after inhaling, to leave the mind alert and focused for the meditation process.

Towards the end of the practice, we will lie down, remain in stillness, allowing time for the fruits of the practice to settle. In this open-hearted state we will receive a chant recited by the teacher.

  • A holistic approach, using āsana, prānāyāma and reflection.

Prior experience in strength and flexibility classes

Two thirds asana-based and one third prānāyāma and reflection.

  • Suitable for all ages and levels and ideal when recovering from injury or trauma. The emphasis is on re-energizing the system without creating stress. A stabilizing approach promoting flexibility and strength where needed and relaxation to restore balance between sympathetic and parasympathetic systems.

  • Learn how to breath in such a way to restore energy levels and reduce any extra stress in the body and mind. A great class at the end of the working day allowing time to reflect and enjoy the evening ahead.

  • A class that provides an overview of the basics of yoga practice, either for absolute beginners or those wanting to learn more about yoga principles to enhance or deepen their existing yoga practice. You will become familiar with or review key yoga postures (asana-s). Understand the connection between breath &movement and experience how yoga can improve wellbeing, increase strength & flexibility and bring overall balance to calm your mind. Prepare you to comfortably attend any of the centre’s regular classes at a time that suits you.

  • A dynamic class to work on stiff joints and tight hamstrings.

Special attention is given to spinal alignment and restoring the syntonisation of breath leading movement.

Postures are adapted to meet the needs of each student in the class.

Relaxation is a feature of each class to absorb the benefits Small group class

  • A meditative practice, where we encourage students to experience their own inner space.

Preparation is through gentle asana to establish a good seated foundation, selected prānāyāma techniques to calm, clear and guide the mind.

These meditative practices will be layered with many inner tools to assist in sustaining focus long enough to experience personal space to ‘be’.

  • An 8 week course that provides an overview of the basics of yoga practice, either for absolute beginners or those wanting to learn more about yoga principles to enhance or deepen their existing yoga practice.

You will become more familiar with key yoga postures (asana-s), the connection of breath with movement and experience how yoga can improve wellbeing, increase strength and flexibility and bring overall balance to calm your mind.

This course also provides an introduction to prepare you to comfortably attend any of the centre’s regular classes at a time that suits you.

  • Highly recommended for anyone wishing to go beyond the possibilities offered in larger group classes. Ancient masters tailored practices for their students, by respecting their strengths, honouring their abilities, and addressing their needs.

At another level, students receive personal tuition to develop a deeper understanding of themselves, seeking a better quality of life and the opportunity to excel in what they can do.

A stabilizing approach promoting flexibility and strength where needed.

    WHO CAN BENEFIT?

People who are recovering from injury or trauma seek yoga to assist in the recovery process.

Suitable for all ages, levels and for post-natal students.

  • Vedic chant in yoga practice is used as a means to create personal connection.

Vedic chant workshops and intensives are offered periodically in the traditional call and response method, a great opportunity to bring groups of people together who love to chant together as a sanga.

Private sessions are available, please get in touch with us to arrange suitable times.
